October 22 , 2007 Olmert and Sarkozy

Prime Minister Olmert was in France today to meet with French Prime President Sarkozy.  Olmert’s major purpose was to work with Sarkozy to increase economic sanctions on Iran.  Olmert had no problem convincing Sarkozy, who now seems to be Israel’s best friend in Europe.  What a difference an election can make.
 
Today the Israeli Police released today a tape of the initial interrogation of Yigal Amir.  The tape was released to counteract the far right's campaign to have Amir released.  In the tape Amir looks quite satisfied.  When asked if he has any qualms about assassinating Rabin, he answered "no".
