King Philip's War

Metacom was the Wampanoag son of Mnassasoit, known by the English as King Philip. He protested the Puritan policies against the Indians, claiming they were destroying Indian life. He managed to unite many of the Indians and attack English settlements throughout New England. The English soon subdued the Indians, and Metacom was executed, his wife and son sold into slavery.
