Hannam (PF-77), originally designated PG-186, was built under Maritime Commission contract by Walsh Raiser Co., Inc., Providence, R.I. Intended for us by the United Kingdom, she was reclassified PF-T7, 15 April 1943, renamed Caico, and launched 6 September 1943 sponsored by Mrs. William A. Sandison. Caicoa, was then completed and transferred under lend-lease to the United Kingdom 31 December 1943 as part of the 21-ship "Colony" class. She served as a patrol and escort ship until being returned to the United States 12 December 1945. The frigate was sold to N. B. Wolcott of New York City in June 1946 and resold to Argentina 6 July 1947. Renamed Santisma Trinidad (P-34), she served with the Argentine Navy as a frigate until 1963, when she was reclassified a survey ship and renamed Augusto Lasere (Q 9)
