The 18th century was one of the significant periods of European music. In the first half of the century, George Frederick Handel and Johann Sebastian Bach were the leading composers. They produced Baroque music. Later in the century, Franz Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart produced a new type of music called classical. In addition, the 18th century produced a new style of art called Rococo. The 18th century was a period when the daily newspaper was introduced for the first time. By the end of the century, 37 English towns had daily papers. It was also a period of the widespread decimation of magazines.
