Buffalo

Buffalo

The buffalo is both the North American bison and a city In New York.

Buffalo, a three-gun sloop, was purchased in April 1813; armed at Philadelphia and attached to the Delaware Flotilla.

She served as a patrol vessel and transport in the Delaware River during the War of 1812. Under the command of Lieutenant Samuel Angus, and while serving as his flagship, Buffalo took part in the attack of the Delaware Flotilla on the British frigate Junon and sloop of-war Martin 29 July 1813.

She was sold at Philadelphia 12 August 1816.
