The 60's were a period of immense turmoil in the United States. For the only time in American history the country suffered through succesive political assasinations. It became mired in a costly war in Vietnam which divided the nation and could not be one. It was also a decade of triumphs from the Civil Rights movement to the landing on the Moon.
