| August 12, 2006- In large scale assault Israeli troops reached the Litani River. The Israeli assault included a large scale airborne assault and a later link up with tank forces. Israel lost 24 soldiers in the attack- including five soldiers who dies in the downing of an Israeli helicopter. |
