Art in the Roman Empire

 

The Romans relied on the Greeks for their artistic inspirations. They copied Greek sculpture. Their paintings were intesly realistic. What the Romas excelled at was architecture. While they utilized Greek styles, they far exceeded the Greeks as buillders. They were the first nation to use concrete and thus were able to build massive public buildings.
